Fathers day.

Hi there!

So fathers day has come and gone again and that means that we are almost halfway through the year! Scary…

This year I decided that I would not be sad on fathers day. This year I realized that there is one true Father that loves me to the moon and back and even further if I let Him. My King, my God is my Father and I celebrated His love for me this year.

Usually on fathers day I would wake up with a heavy heart, sad, because I can not spend it with my dad. I do have a wonderful father in law and the BEST “step”dad who raised me as his own, but for some reason my heart is always heavy due to not being able to spend it with my own dad.

There’s this one quote that people are getting so wrong at this stage and every time I see it, it irritates the living daylights out of me:

“Anyone can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a daddy.” SERIOUSLY!!!???

Do you even know what a father is? A father puts a roof over your head. A father puts clothes on your back. A father puts food on your plate, pays your school fees, teaches you rules and regulations, disciplines you when needed and bursts with pride when you succeed. And when you fail? He mentors you in the right direction. A father doesn’t disappear…. And yes, this may sound harsh, but you know what a “daddy” does? The complete opposite of what I just said a father does. God is not called our daddy…. God is called our father and He is called that, because He does ALL of the above mentioned.

I saw on a group posting there are countless women who have had bad experiences with the men that were supposed to be their fathers and then these men (If I can call them that…) just dropped them.

How many men are in jail or bound by crime and violence, because they did not have the proper example of how a man should act? How many of them are there, because the guy who was supposed to teach them to respect a woman decided to leave and disrespect the child’s mother?

A father is supposed to be a daughters first love and a son’s first hero. Why are so many women’s hearts broken due to these bad excuses of guys who call themselves “men”? Why are so many women looking for love in the wrong places? Because their “daddy’s” wouldn’t be their fathers!!

But I can tell you one thing, the moment that you sit down and you realize that God has always been there for you, never left you and His love for you is so powerful that it will move mountains, THAT will be the start of great things for you. That will be the day that the only man you will want to see proud of you will be your Saviour and King.

You will see: You are the son / daughter of the most high God.

Psalm 68:5

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
